En el juicio oral y público contra los policías implicados en la muerte de Darian Barzabal, quien fue asesinado cuando estaba detenido dentro de un patrullero de la Comisaría 3era del barrio Los Hornos de La Plata, los testigos coincidieron en que el chico había estado esposado y le apoyaron el arma en la cabeza para dispararle. Este jueves la audiencia comienza a las 10 de la mañana.
Los principales testigos de la tercera audiencia fueron los peritos forenses de la Asesoría Pericial, los doctores Maffei y Cassano, quienes en su momento realizaron la autopsia del joven.
Con sus testimonios dejaron en claro que por la herida que dejó el disparo que recibió Darian, quien gatilló necesariamente debió apoyarle el arma en la cabeza. También afirmaron que por el tipo de lesiones que presentaba había sido golpeado y había estado esposado.
Esto le quita valor a la versión policial de que en la madrugada del 10 de enero de 2007 el joven se enfrentó con un arma a los oficiales Santiago Regalía y Christian Gutierrez cuando lo trasladaban luego de haberlo detenido acusado de un robo. Los policías sostienen que Regalía le tuvo que disparar en medio de una pelea para defenderse.
También prestaron declaración médicos y enfermeros del Hospital San Juan de Dios, quienes ratificaron que cuando recibieron al joven herido no estaba esposado. Estos relatos coinciden con las versiones de algunos policías de la Comisaría Tercera, que afirmaron que le quitaron las esposas al chico antes de llevarlo a ese lugar.
En el juicio la familia del joven que fue asesinado a los 17 años es patrocinada por la Asociación Civil Miguel Bru, y representada por los abogados Fabio Villarruel y Paola Catino, colaboradores de la entidad. Son juzgados los ex oficiales Santiago Regalía, por homicidio; y Christian Gutierrez, Carlos Morales, Eduardo Zaffino, Iván Martínez y Lucas Oyarzábal, por encubrimiento. El Tribunal a cargo es el Nro.4, compuesto por los jueces Alfredo Caputo Tartara, Juan Carlos Bruni, y Gloria Lilia Berzosa, y el fiscal es Dr. Carlos Gomez.
